Seattle - Day 2

We woke up around 10am on Saturday and headed out for day 2 with Allison!

We had brunch at Wild Mountain Cafe which was a restaurant in an old house. Tons of character and fantastic & HUGE homemade cinnamon rolls.

Next we visited Kerry Park in Queen Anne (neighborhood) to take in some great views of the city. You can see Mt. Rainier in the background... it blends into the clouds and it's right over the right side of the city buildings in this picture. It was ~60 miles away in this picture and we could see it. Crazy.

Driving to our next spot...

Lake Union - Allison has a friend that used to have a houseboat on Lake Union, so she knew a secret way to go walk on the dock by the boats. A pretty boat on water is one of my favorite sights.

We drove to a different way to enjoy Lake Union - Gas Works Park. We laid a blanket out and enjoyed the view. I LOVE this about both SF and Seattle - they are cities that have parks with amazing views that you can go spend an entire day at. There was yoga, kids flying kites, people eating lunch all around us. We also watched (and listened to) the seaplanes land as their "airport" is on Lake Union. This is also where the Sleepless in Seattle houseboat is.

We had planned to kayak on Lake Union this day, but Allison said that the weather this time of year isn't the best for that. She said it could be really windy and hard to steer. Lots of red flags and Valentine's Day Masacare thoughts were running through my head so I opted out for that. Well, we ended up having amazing weather so we could have done this. If we go back, I'd love to kayak on Lake Union.

We saw the troll under the bridge. He's holding a Voltswagon in his hand ha.

We then drove to checkout Lake Washington. We didn't get out of the car, but that was good enough. It was another pretty body of water in Seattle!

Ice cream stop at Molly Moon's! I had heard about this place and we were already driving through this neighborhood (Wallingford), so we haddd to stop. It was realllllly good ice cream.

Allison wasn't feeling too well, so Tripp and I had a date night alone in Seattle at Chinook's (which was Allison's reco on great seafood). Chinook's is located in Seattle's Fisherman's Terminal.

Apparently ships from the Deadliest Catch TV show have docked here!

We had a glass of wine and their fabulous bread to start. For dinner, I had the Rockfish tacos and Tripp had Ahi Tuna. It has a family diner style atmosphere. It was good!
