Home

I'm back in AR after 10 days in SF... And it's always so hard to leave. The moment I dread the most is the one when our time together is officially over - our last bear hug and kiss before I hop in the über ride to the airport. I'm always so sad, but so grateful for that moment after I get in the car and watch Tripp walk back into the apt.

How blessed am I that I have someone to miss so much. I don't take that lightly.

I'm writing things down because I want to remember always remember what makes us "us."
1. Every time I blow my nose, Tripp laughs. It never fails. One time - who knows how long ago - he said "honk if you're horny!!" after I blew my nose. And now it's tradition. One of us says it (because apparently it's loud).
 2. Monday night half price burgers at Perry's. We go super early (5:30) because we are cool like that and I look forward to it every trip out to SF. We talk about the week, plan our next trips, usually try and predict when he's moving home, etc :)
3. I get SO excited around 3pm everyday during the week for Tripp to come home. I usually text him and ask when he's coming home, in hopes he can leave a tad early :) It's this giddy, hurry home feeling that I hope never goes away. #almostfiveyearsstrong
4. We hold hands, cuddle on the couch or bed (still cannot get over that they're in the same room), and just show affection A LOT. When we stand at a street corner waiting to walk more than 10 seconds, I get a kiss on the cheek. It's the best.
5. We starting saying #blessed with this voice. It's nothing offensive, it's just whenever we are feelin thankful... It's #blessed.

Tripp texted me this after that moment this morning and it was the best. It's amazing how much stinkin love we have for eachother and it gets better and better ever time we're together.

Other than missing him, I do get anxiety the night before I leave SF and I'm trying to go to bed. I worry that something bad will happen to one of us and this will be the last time I get to see his face. I know - it's a horrible thought but it's true. I know life is not in my hands, but God-willing... I hope we can look back at this stage in our life many many years down the road with smiles and more adventures under our belt!

Love my boo! Back to reality for two work weeks, then headed to SF again!! 😊

Positive side about being home? SLIMS.

UC Berkeley

We got up and headed to Berkeley for our Saturday. To get there, we took BART for about 30 minutes which took us a few blocks from the campus. We headed straight to brunch, of course!

We ate at Gather. The decor was perfect. No wait. Fast service. SOOO different from eating in the city.

My date ;)

I had the french toast - SO yummy.

Tripp had a breakfast sandwich and said it was the best brunch he's had so far. That says a lot because we have brunched a LOT. I was so happy to hear this because I always get nervous he won't like the places I reco based on research. This one was a win.

After brunch, we headed to explore the UC Berkeley campus.

And because it's California and there is always something unexpected to be seen... we came upon some tribal festival/party right when we walked on campus. There was signing, dancing and what looked like meditating. Never a dull moment.

It was a beautiful campus!

Basketball arena - home of the Bears. If you look closely, you can see Tripp calling the hogs at the top of the stairs haha.

The amazing buildings! I loved that they all have a similar look... not a smorgasbord like Fayetteville.

We had planned to go inside the Library, but there was a private event.

The famous clock tower.

The Greek Theater... it was huge and had the best views of the city. They had an event the night before, so there was still equipment up.

Hard to believe this view from another campus greek theater could be topped.

The business college. I mean... really??

Swooned over this copper roof.

The Cal Bears football stadium.

The next adventure was to head to a lookpoint point on Panoramic Hill. We walked a LONG time up and down hills + stairs and didn't find the exact place I had read about in Panoramic Hill. The views along the way were great, but we were over trying to find it. Saving that for next time!

Cute lemon tree back there :)

Here's the Sigma Chi house. Safe to say we were a tad disappointed!

Chi O didn't disappoint - duh! ;) Loved the look of this house.

After checking off most items on campus, we decided to walk down a few of the main streets in Berkeley.

This made me laugh out loud... "Laters Baby" is what Christian in 50 Shades of Grey says.

We were exhausted after walking so much, so we sat down with some pie.

I got chocolate silk and Tripp got lemon meringue. YUM.

This was the cute little back area where you could enjoy your pie :)

On our way home from Berkeley, we got out at the BART stop that Tripp takes everyday for work so he could show me his office! BART pulls right under their building, so it's pretty convenient.

Tripp's desk.

View from one of the conference rooms by his desk.

Tripp took this pic when we were waiting on BART.

The week before I came out to SF for this tripp, I got this email :) So thoughtful and I loved the surprise!

We went to One Market right after Tripp moved out and hadn't been back since... and it was one of our favorite meals in SF. So we dressed up and had a great meal together to celebrate our last night together in the city. Tripp got scallops - I got the pork tenderloin - Ended with cobbler for dessert :)
