Saturday - Carmel, 17 Mile Drive + Standford

Saturday morning we drove down to see the Monterey Farmer's Market... which we couldn't find anywhere! So, we walked around :)

Next up - shopping on the best streets in Carmel :) This was Tripp's least favorite part of the trip... he's not a fan of walking in and out of shops, especially where college football is on.

Saw this and the Razorbacks were playing a few hours - GO HOGS!

It was like walking around in a storybook. So dreamy!

We stopped in Cafe Carmel for breakfast.

I tried to walk down every alley - there are so many hidden shops you would miss if you don't.

We had breakfast at Katy's Place - cash only. It was fabulous. Tripp said it was the best brunch he's had in the last year and a half. BOOM.

After brunch, we drove to Carmel Beach and drove along the water.

The last adventure before heading back to SF was to actually drive the 17 mile drive. We had originally planned that as part of Friday when we were visiting Pebble and Inn at Spanish Bay... but we ran out of time. At this point, we had already seen so many amazing views - it wasn't as impressive as it could have been. I'm still glad we did it!

Thank you Big Sur, Carmel & Monterey for an amazing time!! It was different than our normal vacations - more walking and doing as compared to lounging at the pool/beach, but it was awesome in its own way. So thankful we had the opportunity to experience and see these beautiful towns.

On our way home, we spontaneously decided to visit Standford. We couldn't spend too much time since we had to turn the rental car in by 5, but it was cool to see parts of the campus!

As I reflected on this vacation, I thought about collecting moments. We've collected a lot of moments over the years. Exciting, happy, sad, frustrating, joyful... All types of moments that have made a beautiful, better-than-I-could-have-ever-imagined journey. Living apart isn't something I ever pictured in "our" plan, but through it all - we've kept our hearts focused on each other, the positives of the situation and really tried to live up this adventure as much as possible. Feeling so grateful for an amazing past week off work with just us. Thankful for God's plan and the gift of marriage. I love my Tripp.
