Valentine's Day Massacre 2015

I flew in to SF on Friday night and was exhausted. I woke up at 5am in AR to teach Jazzercise at 5:45, worked until 4:30, headed to airport, flew to SF and arrived around 10:45pm PST. It was a long day, but I was so glad to be there.

We slept in a bit on Saturday and then headed to the Farmer's Market. Due to the holiday and the amazing weather, people were everywhere. The Farmer's Market was packed so we didn't want to stay very long. We walked around and got some coffee and fresh Tortellini to use for dinner later.

These kids in the "College Fund Street Band" were adddorable! We listened to them for a bit.

Flowers in honor of Valentine's Day

We headed to Perry's for brunch! We have eaten at Perry's for dinner a few times together (and Tripp goes there every Monday night for 1/2 price burgers), but had not had their brunch. We sat on the back patio and fueled up for the day :)

To setup this story right, I feel like I need to mention a few things:
1. I have been doing a LOT of research and have a SF bucket list for us to make the most of our being in the city.
2. During previous trips, we didn't have a "game plan" and it wasn't working. There are sooo many choices.
3. So, I plan our time together and then we talk about it... and then we have a "game plan" for our "exploring" as I like to call it :)

OK - the game plan for Saturday was to rent bikes and bike to Crissy Field... then over the Golden Gate and back home. So, Tripp and I found the bike place, "Bike & Roll," and got this party started.

I thought it would be a fantastic idea to rent a tandem bike so we could "explore" together. Literally. Tripp started getting nervous about not having ridden a bike in a while... and then the lady helping us was telling us how hard and awkward it was on a tandem. Thanks a lot, lady.

But - we decided to take it for a stroll anyway. We started going and it was hilarious. We were wobbly, all over the place and then we got the hang of it... kind of. I kept telling Tripp... "You OWN the bike. The bike doesn't OWN you! You got this! Come ONNNN boo!" ;) It was hysterical. I really wish someone would have videoed us.

A couple minutes in, Tripp was sweating and cussing and talking about how bad it hurt. He really did have to do all of the work steering and getting us going... but I was determined that we would get used to it. About 15 minutes in, we were done for - Tripp was pissed and sweaty and I was just pissed because I wanted to bike ;) I tried to mention taking single bikes, but the word bike was out of the question for the day ha. We call this the "Valentine's Day Massacre of 2015." Uber to the rescue to Crissy Field.

This pic was before the massacre. Happy and ready to conquer the tandem. Yeah rightttt.

Here she is!! I think Tripp got the chills every time we saw one after that the rest of the day.

Hydrating after that disaster.

Forcing him to smile and pose with the tandem to remember this momentous experience.

Once we got to Crissy Field, we layed the blanket down and just relaxed with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate. People were everywhere, but we also had private space where it felt like it was just us. You could sit on the grass or on the beach closer to the water.

The view right from our blanket.

View from our blanket looking back at the city.

Good thing we don't know anybody here... ;) They DO match the scenery nicely.

Then we started heading back to the apt and I snapped this pic. Pretty sure this view will never get old.
