Hospital Day 2

This was another great day full of snuggles and visitors. I had my catheter removed that morning and therefore I had to start getting out of bed myself to go to the bathroom... the first time I tried, I couldn't. It hurt too bad and I had zero strength. That was hard. I was emotional about it - it's hard to remember the major surgery that you have because all of your focus is on someone else... so it crept up on me in these moments where I was unable to do something - like move in my bed on my own, go to the bathroom, reach and pick up Davis, etc. I later got out of bed when I couldn't hold it anymore, but it was tough!

We struggled to get him to latch while nursing, so I pumped and then we fed him via syringe.

Sweet squishy face! Anne Douglas (Dougie's mom) got him this cute outfit :)

Paula Irwin (mom's chi-o friend) brought us breakfast. Notice daddy still snoozin' in the background ;) He snored quite a bit in the hospital. I was SOOOO hot in our room and apparently it was an "ice-box" for everyone else. My mom and Tripp froze every night - they kept bringing blankets to stay warm ha.

Rannan meets Davis... his great-grandfather.

Memom gave me a pearl necklace this day. She gifts one of her peices of jewelry to her grandchildren after they give birth (I didn't know about this tradition until she told me about it then)... I love them!

Jess McCutcheon came for snuggles.

Fran, Tripp's co-worker and friend, with Davis.

 Both grandmothers changing his diaper!

Scott & Tena Allen came to visit too. Tena was so surprised I let her hold him - of course I did. They are family to us.

Bow on my mom and dad's tree at their house - Memom always put a big bow on her maple tree with each grandchild and now my mom is continuing the tradition.

Bow on Jay's office door too!
