First Day in Hospital

I don't remember much about the first night - other than being overwhelmed with how much I loved he and his daddy... and no sleep :) With the c-section, I couldn't get Davis out of his crib when he was crying and that was hard. Tripp and my mom took turns sleeping on the couch and watching Davis. I don't think I slept a wink - I woke up at every noise he made and I wanted to stare at him to make sure he didn't stop breathing!

We had visitors that day, Dixie got us Stonemill (HALLELUJAH!) and I took a shower.

Morning skin-to-skin snuggles and beautiful flowers from Mere, Claire and Dougie in the background ;)

I didn't each deli meat throughout my pregnancy and I could not WAIT to eat Stonemill, so that was my first request!

Hi, I'm new here.

Cousin Brad came to meet Davis!

The view of the hospital where we were... beautiful fall trees.

Aunt KK came to visit - she was in NOLA for a wedding the day before when he was born and was sick about not being there with the rest of the family.

I took a shower - since I hadn't showered since Friday night! That was an experience I will NEVER forget. I could barely walk or stand up, so Tripp got in the shower and helped me. I have never been more vulnerable. My bandage over my scar was half off, my staples were showing, I was still bleeding and I hadn't showered in what seemed like forever. Tripp has never loved me better. He washed my hair (kind of - I had to redo it ha!) and pretty much everything. It definitely wasn't a romantic moment of any sort, but I will always remember how he made me feel. Beautiful. Loved. Cared for. Adored. I am SO thankful.

Dixie blew dry my hair after too.

After the shower, I missed Davis! We snuggled a bit :)

Barrett came to visit!

Trey & Courtney Becton met Davis. Trey is a doctor at Washington Regional, so he was all fancy in his white coat :) I didn't get any pics of him. They also came the day before when I was in labor. So sweet.

Davis despises being naked or getting his diaper changed. When daddy talks to him closely, he calms down. My heart seriously melts every time this happens.

Jess came back to see us and she's teaching Tripp how to swaddle here :)

Jess Hendrix, our CEO, came to see us too. She brought a ton of goodies from our registry and loved getting to see her. She was also the one that told me a thousand times that my water would NOT break and I would be late with my first baby hahha.

Aunt KK and Uncle Scott came to see him :)
