First Full Week at Home - Davis' Second Week of Life!

On Monday, Tripp went to work that morning and came home for lunch so we could go to my Doc appt. Since we came home from the hospital at night, we didn't get any pics in front of our house with the three of us! So, mom took a few pics :)

My doc appt went great - they removed the staples from my incision which I didn't feel one bit. After the appt, we picked out our Christmas tree.

More Davis pics - clearly we cannot get enough of him!

This outfit was passed down from my cousin Sarah Heringer... who got it from Aunt Garlanda Melton. Now Davis is wearing it :)

First Weekend Together!

The days all run together, but here are pics from our first weekend together.

Davis' favorite position is laying on your chest - especially his daddy's.

On Friday, we had our first pediatrician appt. Davis did great on your way to the appt - still liking the carseat which is awesome. We went to the wrong building first and then once we got to the right building... we realized we forgot the diaper bag. OOPS! Totally rookie move ha! Of course you pooped when you were at your appt, so we had to confess and borrow diapers. Too funny.

We requested Dr. Silvey per Jess Lais reco, but he wasn't available. We got Dr. Davis, ironically, and we loved him and plan to stick with him. Davis was so good during the appt and we both felt so much better after asking the doc all of our questions. Plus, he got a great report! Tripp and I fist bumped and high fived quite a bit during the appt :) What a weight lifted off our shoulders on the way home. Daddy snuggles during the appt.

Front of our house - "Davis" stork that we had on the hospital room door too. I definitely thought we would have our Christmas out when he came - not fall still!

Jess, Bethany and her mom came to visit and brought us dinner :)

Jay and Papaw came to town and Papaw got to hold his great-grandson who is named after his late wife. Pretty special. He was SO excited.

Guess who is messing with our child? Doby. Duh ;)

My parents came over and hung with Davis while Tripp and I got a good nap in.

We also gave him his first bath - he HATED it. Screamed and cried the entire time. I had no idea what I was doing, but he smells divine and is definitely cleaner! :)

Hello, my love :)

Tripp was excited to watch Sunday football with Davis :) He held him on his lap for most of the day. Doin' a little tummy time in the pic below...

My Jazzercise friend, Rachel, brought us Onyx coffee and met Davis!

This is one of my favorite newborn outfits - it is the brand Kickee Pants and the softest material EVER. Re: newborn outfits - I don't have near enough of! Everyone told me to just have a few because he will outgrow them quickly, but they are still big on him and we go through about 3 outfits a day max - we can stick with one or two if he doesn't pee on himself ;)

The thought of daddy going back to work on Monday was in the back of my mind all weekend and I could cry on the spot thinking about it... It feels like we just got home and now he is leaving us already. He is only working a half day Monday and then W and F... but it's amazing how much more comfortable I am when he's by my side. We will miss him!

Thanksgiving 2016

Thanksgiving day was a blur! It's so hard to remember everything - I wish I would have taken notes on my phone and captured some of the moments so I could later remember.

First things first, I was pumping more colostrum! Yippie! It's amazing how proud you get of every little drop.

That morning in our bedroom, Tripp told me he had a Thanksgiving present for me. Sitting on the edge of our bed, I opened up another BEAUTIFUL wedding band! He said he wished he could give me the world after this experience - this didn't feel like enough. I was teary - so thankful once again for how wonderful he's been! I'll never forget this moment.

Since we didn't anticipate Davis coming early, we didn't have a Thanksgiving outfit and that had to change of course! Honey went out and bought one :) Our sweet, new turkey.

My parents and Mary Ann came over for Thanksgiving and we catered in Honey Baked Ham. It sure didn't feel like Thanksgiving, but I didn't care one bit. Davis was crying so my mom, MA and I ate first and Tripp held him... then the men ate after us ha! Life with a baby :)

We are so thankful for a safe delivery, healthy baby and happy family of 3!
