We had planned to go over to eat dinner, hang out and give them a gift to open. About 30 minutes before we got to their house, my mom let me know that their godson, Connor, was over and would be with us that night. We hesitated sharing, but we decided to play it by ear.
We were over for about an hour and it didn't feel right to give them their gift because Connor was there... then Connor left and I jumped on the opportunity! We were all sitting around the island snacking and I gave my mom a little something to open. She was talking the whole time she was opening, not aware of what she was about to find out.
She opened it... said "what?? Whattt?? oh my gosh!!" and the tears were flowing! She showed my dad and then it was a hug fest. Such a fun memory!
We had about 15 minutes before Connor got back to talk about it all... and then we were quiet the rest of the night. It was short and sweet!! I wish we could have kept talking, but we have plenty of time to do that over the next several months.

My dad texted me with this pic and said "This was our first pic walking as grandparents-to-be- on Sunday." :) We went to mass with my mom on Sunday and after she just kept saying - "I can't believe it! So excited!"
This Thursday, we have our next appointment and get to hear the heartbeat. I cannot wait for that moment. God-willing, all is well.
