We sat in the ultrasound room and I was nervous!! Excited, but nervous! Dr. Markell walked in and I immediately felt at ease. She was happy for us and she got to meet Tripp. I told her that I was Sarah Heringer's cousin, who she was on Arkansas Pom with at the U of A during college, and it was so fun having that in common. She knew "Aunt Jan" and had recently been texting with Sarah since she just had Baby Daniel. I loved having something personal that connected us, so maybe she will be a bit more invested in us than the average patient. If anything, it made me feel good!
During the ultrasound, Baby H immediately popped up on the screen. Tripp was holding my hand to his chest - we had been waiting on this moment since we found out Easter weekend. It was finally here.
Baby was up on the screen so quickly! The baby was moving its little nubs of hands and feet like crazy. It's heart rate was 176 bpm and it was the coolest sound. It was beating so fast. Dr. Markell said everything looked perfect and my due date was right on track of Dec 2nd. I would be 10 weeks tomorrow on Friday.
We were so happy. Tripp told me he was so proud of me - I took it like a champ! ;) Took some pics after the appt in the hospital parking lot of the THREE of us! We went back to work and we texted most of the day. Our next appointment is on June 1 (4 weeks later).
