Sunday at Baker Beach

We woke up this morning, headed to brunch in the Marina at Rose's Cafe. We got seated immediately at the bar (score!) and had a good breakfast.

As soon as we sat down, this guy was eying me :) I LOVE orange rolls. I got it to go for later on the beach.

Tripp got the breakfast pizza... and go figure, I got the french toast. It was good, but we wouldn't come back. Too many better brunch options in this city, but I'm glad we tried it!

We walked up and down Union after we ate because we love this street SO much. Fresh flowers :)

Cute boutiques and flowers.

Then we made it to Baker Beach!

On one side of the beach are beautiful, pastel colored houses...

And on the other side, there is the beautiful Golden Gate bridge.

We laid out our blanket and relaxed.

Dogs everywhere. Playing catch, running into the water, chasing each other. I love that SF is a big dog city!

Tripp listened to podcasts about fantasy football (sounds thrilling) :)

I read a book. I read a friggin' book! I love reading, but tend to only read on vacation. Today, I spent Sunday in a book and it was fabulous. I laid my head on Tripp's stomach and soaked it up. I can't say I ever thought this would be my backdrop on a normal Sunday.

We spent about 4 hours here and decided to walk up and down the beach before we took Uber home. It got crowded - we hadn't really realized it!

HA.

This man had a huge fishing pole propped up on a piece of wood and everyone was just walking underneath it. Random!

It was a beautiful, sunny day well-spent together.

Meanwhile in Arkansas - they turned Dickson Street into a huge slip n slide. We are sad to miss this so we will hopefully catch it next year!

Giants vs. Cardinals + NOPA

I flew in on Friday night and Tripp met me in the lobby after he had been to the Giants vs. Cardinals game. This was his two worlds colliding - the Giants who he has come to love since living here and the Cardinals... his favorite team growing up.

Tripp hadn't been feeling good the last few days before I got here :( Flu-ish like symptoms, sore throat, etc... but he wasn't going to miss these games. He slept in on Saturday morning until ~10:30. I had already been up for 2 hours - usually it's the opposite! We headed to the game around noon and spent the day at AT&T park.

Walking to the field from our apt. I want to try this restaurant and love that they always throw up this sign every game day.

Tripp knows that if he wants me to go to a baseball game and enjoy it - I need a good seat in the sun :) CHECK CHECK!

We wore red today for the Cardinals - usually it's orange and black!

Walking out of the stadium and stopped to check out all of these lovely folks on the water.. one of our bucket list items was to rent kayaks and hang outside the stadium. It looks so fun!

There are people swimming in the water!

Back together in the city by the bay :)

I headed to shop a bit after the game and Tripp rested in the apt. We had dinner reservations at 9:45pm. Those are the latest reservations we've had outside of New Years Eve one year ha! It was the only time to get into this place, so we said #yolo - let's do it.

This was standing on our balcony BEFORE going to dinner. Pretty moon!

NOPA. You have to book reservations a month out in advance or you can try to walk-in and likely have a 2 hour wait.

The restaurant is great inside - wood beams in the ceiling, mirrors on the wall, nice bar area, wood tables. We sat upstairs so we could look out on the full restaurant.

My boo. He was feeling much better, so that's why we decided to go to dinner.

The kitchen - all open.

We started with warm goat cheese, fresh fruit and crostinis. SO YUMMY. I want to recreate this in the future.

Wine, cheese and fruit - yes please.

I had the country pork chop and Tripp got the famous burger. It got hot inside once we started eating and then Tripp started sweating... and I didn't feel too great either. So we left about an hour after being there. It was very strange - we got back to the apt and didn't even feel like we had been to dinner! Hard to explain, but we were on the same page :)

Overall - loved the environment and our appetizer. The food was good. Service was ok. Would definitely come back though - we blame ourselves more than NOPA.

We checked out the moon before we went to sleep. Good night, SF :)
