I tend to only update this blog when we have exciting news that I want to document so we don't forget... and life sure has been interesting lately!
We are moving to San Francisco for a 2ish year rotation - say whhhattt??? When Tripp joined Clorox almost 3 years ago, we always knew this was a possibility and we have always been open to the idea. The Clorox headquarters is in Oakland, CA. We didn't think the opportunity would come up this quickly, but after many conversations - we decided we were in. Pretty sure these two country-livin, Arkansans said one of the below every other minute as we were thinking through the decision = "We just can't say no to this" and "We would regret it later" "Wait are we sure??"
To say I'm proud of Tripp is simply an understatement. He has worked hard, made great relationships, had fun while doing it, and now has been given an opporunity to continue his career growth at a company he loves. So, off we go!! Well, kind of.
I recently re-joined SSX after a year working at the Sam's Club Home Office. Since I'm just getting started back at SSX and we bought a house a year ago, we knew Tripp was going to need to head out to SF before I could. After spending a lot of time looking at the calendar and talking, we've decided that Tripp will move out in early July and I will stay in NWA, but will travel 10ish days a month to visit him in SF and work remotely until Jan (when I hopefully move out for good). Of course I will miss him tremendously and we don't want to live apart, but if we can follow the calendar that we've worked out - we won't be apart more than 2.5 weeks at a time. This is what we think is best for now... and we will re-evaluate as time goes on and we experience this situation first hand.
So... we are headed to San Francisco soon to checkout the city and 1) make sure we really want to live there and 2) find a place to live!
The posts that I've written on this blog have been simply for us to be able to capture memories... Since we're moving across the country - I've decided to open this blog to friends and family in case they want to keep up with us!
Can't wait. We're anxious, excited and overall - feeling really thankful for the door that has been opened for us. We're runnin' right through it.
