Callin the Hogs from SF!

For both Saturdays I was in SF, we had Razorback football games! I am not a huge sports fan, but something about watching the Hogs from SF felt like home.

Tripp found out where the AR alumni group watched the game in SF, so we walked down to Pete’s Tavern (right across from AT&T stadium) to join them.  The walk is a straight shot by the water, so it's a nice view the entire way. It was fun!

The first Saturday we had a smaller group and the second Saturday (game vs. A&M) was larger and definitely louder – what a rollercoaster, heartbreaker of a game! L Both times we ordered French fries and corn dogs – When the Hollowells find something they like, they REALLY like it ha. We are definitely creatures of habit… which makes this whole SF adventure so out of our comfort zone.

Here are some pics from the Nichols State Game - happy to be together and we won!

Had to have a bloody here... it's just the right thing to do before Razorback games. It was in a mason jar - even better!

We were in a downstairs room that had the game on the big screen.

Now for pics from the A&M game on 9/27 - didn't win, but it was a great game and we still love our hogs.

Lot of testosteerone in this room...
Wooooooo Pig Sooie!

Sportin' our Alumni stickers - feels like yesterday we both had Chi O Hog stickers on!

My 27th Bday in SF

Last year, neither one of us could have predicted we would be celebrating my birthday in San Francisco... let alone when Tripp was no longer living in AR. Whoa. It still doesn’t feel real.

I caught what Tripp had so I was not feelin well whatsoever L I think it was a combination of allergies and a cold. No fun. Since I am working remotely from SF when I am out here, I am on the phone all.day.long. I cannot complain because I am SO blessed SSX is allowing me to do this. I literally missed everyone’s birthday calls because I was on the phone all but 15 minutes of the day.

Tripp came home after work and we headed to do some shopping. We went to Anthropologie (my fav) and the mall before our dinner at Plouf. I had been to Plouf twice before on previous work trips to SF and loved it. Tripp had never been and he really enjoyed it. Plouf has an awesome atmosphere – it’s in an alley way and we sat outside. I got a ceaser salad, shrimp and grits and crème brulee for my meal. Ringing in 27 with a healthy start! ;)

Thankful on this 27th Birthday

I woke up feeling sick in a weird bed in a tiny apartment in SF and was seriously oozing thankfulness all day. I had so many moments of gratefulness… I thought I would write them down so I don’t forget.

1.  Waking up to Tripp – This is an amazingly beautiful luxury. A few months ago the idea of going to bed and waking up without Tripp would have been due to illness or an accident, but life is a funny thing. I was so thankful to wake up to his cute face today.

2.  Voicemail from Mary Morgan – After the last few years, this is also a luxury. She was the first person to call and wish me happy birthday. I woke up to a VM of her singing me “Happy Birthday” and it seriously made me smile ear to ear. I am so happy she can call me and wish me happy birthday.

3.  Starbucks – We have a Starbucks across from our place in SF. It’s not so great for the wallet, but I LOVE it. Tripp went down and got me my signature drink and a blueberry scone. Such a great way to start the day.

4.  My Mom’s Card – I got a card addressed to “Mrs. Tripp Hollowell” with a CA address. SO WEIRD! She told me I made her world a better place. Probably the nicest thing she has ever said to me. Love my mom.

5.  My Job – On my first conference call for the day, my team all sang “Happy Birthday” to me. No matter where you are, SSX can make you feel special.

6.  Sharing My Bday – I share my bday with a lot of really cool people. We all wish each other happy birthday and it makes me happy! 9/24 is indeed a good day to be born ;)

7.  Group Text with my College BFFs – We had the most random, funniest group text with my 3 best college friends – Doug, Mere and Claire. I laughed out loud multiple times a day.

8.  Memom on FB – My grandmother wished my Happy Birthday via Facebook. I never thought I would say that. She is too funny.

9.  Tripp’s Fam – Jay, Mary Ann and Pudd all called and left me the nicest voicemails. They have such great hearts… blessed to call them family.

10. Giny – My cousin Giny also called and sang a very heart-felt, country version of Happy Birthday. It was fantastic.

Sunset Cruise

Tripp booked a sunset cruise for us on Friday night (9/26/14) and it was awesome! We had a drink, ate dinner (plus a lot of cookies) and just cruised around on the boat. We went down by the Ferry Building, by Alcatraz, over to Sausalito and then under the Golden Gate. It was pretty chilly!

Looking back at the city from the boat.

September Trip to SF - Not a Strong Start

September San Francisco Trip (9/19 – 9/28)

A Day In the Airports = Not a Strong Start :/

After the longest length of time away from each other (3 weeks), I headed to SF on Friday, September 19th! I took the day off at work because we found a super cheap flight that left around 1pm and got me to SF at 5:30pm PST – which was the earlier than I had arrived the previous months. Which was awesome!!

It ended up being a day from hell in the airport – my flight was delayed 4x at XNA so I ended up sitting at XNA for 4 hours… and missed my connection in Dallas. Finally got to Dallas, was on standby for an earlier flight and didn’t make the cut. More flight delays in Dallas due to maintenance, then we switched gates and I was finally on the plane to SF! The flight was pretty low key until we landed and the pilot said “everyone stay in your seats as law enforcement is entering the plane.” WHAT??? A few seconds later, cops started down the center aisle and arrested a guy sitting in the row in front of me. He was fighting back, yelling “they are going to kill me! Save me! Don’t let them take me!” and acting like he was having a panic attack. The guy was a pretty big man and they were having a hard time getting the handcuffs one. About 7 minutes later, he was off the plane. Whew. I mean what an end to a crazy day!

Tripp met me at the airport and at first they thought the lost my bag because the AA worker thought my name was Kitty ;) I was so ready to get out of the airport. We rode BART home and then went to bed.

Poor Tripp had been sick the days before I got there, so he was not feeling well whatsoever… and of course I caught it a couple days in. So lots of huggin happening with team Hollowell this trip haha!

Pigmint Flowers

After visiting Tripp in SF in Aug, he surprised me with flowers at work on the Tuesday after Labor Day. I had NO clue and was so surprised. I ended up having to leave SF earlier than expected due to work, so I was really sad. I read the card and burst into tears. Traveling back and forth is rough... and Mondays and Tuesdays are always the hardest after being together.

That's all I needed. Love him.
