The Bachelorette - Emily Maynard's Viewing Party

My friend Jessica had a Bachelorette Viewing Party the other night and it was hilarious. She invited three of us over - we all used to sit in that office at Rockfish together.  She made dinner for the 4 of us and had these cookies made too! It was too funny.

Wanted to document these... good thing Jef won! I really liked him ;)

Summer Trip to Helena

Tripp and I decided to go to Helena one weekend and had coordinated for Kristin & Grayson to come too! We just hung out, ate lots of yummy food and swam in the pool... love being around them and SO wish we lived closer :( Here are some pics of our weekend!

Grayson was a little scared of the water at first, but was ALL about it pretty quickly. Such a cutie.

Dinner Party - Katie Learns How to Cook

So - I am not a cook. I am not your typical wife who cooks and cleans, etc. It's not that I don't like cooking or don't want to cook - I just haven't really been interested in it and it's the last thing I want to do after a day at work. If I didn't work... I would absolutely be cooking at night! (I know, that's a bold statement... but I hope this would be the case)

Mrs. Cindy Maas (our ring bearer's mom) gave me "Free Night of Cooking" coupon for one of my bridal showers and I had never used it. We had talked about scheduling it many times, but never put it on the calendar. So - we decided to finally make it happen and it was SO.MUCH.FUN. She and her daughter Kayleigh (& her boyfriend, Ben), my parents and Tripp and I had a great time!

However - it was a LONG experience. Poor guests didn't get to eat until 10:30pm! We cooked for 5 hours straight...had NO idea how long it took to chop up so many ingredients!

We had a roasted pear salad, shrimp scampi, grits and creme brulee. Mrs. Maas really made me do everything so I could learn... and it got me on a cooking spree! Tripp and I have been cooking a LOT more at home and I have actually cooked meals all by myself :) AND Tripp eats it and enjoys it!

Here are some pics of our fun night... we need to do it again soon!

Visit from Cousin Spencer

Tripp's cousin Cotton and his wife, Donna came to spend this weekend with us in Fayetteville! Cotton had a conference he was speaking at in the Walton College (where Tripp and I had MANY classes), so they came up on Thursday and left today.

The highlight of the trip was meeting their new son, Spencer! Spencer is 5 months old and is seriously the cutest and happiest baby I have ever been around. I have babysat lots of kiddos and Spencer was a GEM. He smiled all day long. I couldn't get enough of him (and neither could Uncle Tripp ;)).

Here are some pics of our weekend!

The picture above is right after he had a meltdown with Uncle Tripp. Spencer started talking too much during Cotton's presentation, so Tripp took him outside. Apparently Spencer fell asleep on him for a bit, but woke up terrified :( He was howling when I walked outside of the classroom after Cotton's presentation was over. Tripp was scared too! I think he thought he had hurt him on accident or something ;) Aunt Katie put him back at ease and he was a happy baby the rest of the day!

Razorback Football - A couple of weeks away!

It is SO hard to believe the first Razorback game is just around the corner. I am so excited about Fall and tailgating! Of course Tripp is too! We were driving around campus the other day and decided to go check out the stadium. They were in the middle of installing the new jumbotron, but the field was beautiful.

Tripp and I continuously remind each other how much we enjoy being so close to campus, where we met and had so many awesome memories. If we ever move away - I know we will realize how blessed we really are! We still feel pretty connected to college, I guess ;)

Woo Pig!!!!

Trips to Chicago & NYC in June

I went to Chicago & NYC in June for work travel. June was the craziest month of the year thus far... Work was so busy! I was glad when June had passed.

Tripp went with me to Chicago and we stayed the weekend. We went to a Cubs game, ate at great restaurants, went shopping and just hung out with my clients. Here is a pic of us in front of Wrigley Field.

I was in NYC for less than 24 hours, so it was SUPER quick. It was my first time to NYC, so I HAD to go and see some of the city. I got in to NYC around 10pm, had to be up at 3am and then left NYC around 3pm that night. Drove in my driveway around midnight. I was exhausted, but it was such a great experience! I'll never forget it. Here are a couple pics of Times Square around midnight:

It was fun to travel, but I was glad to be back home!

I'm Back!

I know it's been a couple of months since I've posted, so I want to recap!

1. We celebrated Easter up here in Rogers... we swap between Helena and Rogers every year for this holiday and this year we stayed up here. It was super low key, but I liked it that way! Here are some cute pics of the house with small tid bits of Easter decor :)

2. We celebrated Miller McNeil Woodruff's first birthday at Cupcakes and Cocktails. Saatchi had a table and so my parents, myself and my aunt ann went (Tripp was out of town). It was SUCH an awesome night! The pic below is when everyone held up their cupcakes in the air and sang Happy Birthday to Miller. Special kiddo... Lots of goose bumps and tears from everyone there!

3. Being lazy and enjoying Spring - so is Reggie!

4. Celebrated my cousin Bradley's graduation from the U of A. My parents had the party and their house and it was fun! Lots of yummy food and sweets.

5. Spent time at the LAKKEE!!! My favorite place ever. We have only been a couple of times - Memorial Day and around the 4th of July when the Spendios were up. Here are some pics of Memorial Day. Our office had Wed & Thursday off for the 4th and then I took off Friday... so I had a fabulous 5 day weekend!

The above pic is of Caroline Spendio, our flower girl. She has gotten so big and we loved getting to spend time with her and her family!

6. Hung out with this cutie and his momma. We used to work at Rockfish together and sat in the same office, so I got to see her every single day of the work week. We no longer get to see each other than often and I really miss her! She is amazing and I have never had so much respect and admiration for a friend as I do with her. Hudson is PRECIOUS!

More to come!!
