The Future

I was telling Tripp the other night how content I am with life with right now. I just feel like we are both where are we supposed to be and doing what we are supposed to be doing. It's such a great feeling!

I have always been one to want the future to get here fast, but I'm just glad to be where I am right now. Thankful and blessed.

I saw these tonight and had to post... I am excited about what God has in store for Tripp and I though! ;)

Update on my New Year's Resolutions...

I thought I would do an update on my New Year's Resolutions to hopefully motivate myself on those I am still lacking on...

1. Take more pictures. MUST... so much more fun when you have pics of great memories.
-UPDATE: FAIL. We still haven't bought a camera.

2. Read more books. I read The Lucky One over my Christmas break and I really love the feeling of completing a good book. Need to spend more time reading and less time on the laptop.
-UPDATE: SUCCESS! I have read the three books in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, which was AMAZING... as well as the first book of the Hunger Games. I say that's progress!

3. Worry Less. Over the last couple of years, my anxious side has come out to play waayyyy to often. It has such a negative affect on my life and I've got to learn to just let.it.go. This is a huge improvement area for me, but I'm aware and working on it. This is also something I won't turn to pills/meds to help me solve.
-UPDATE: SO, SO. I still have anxiety about work too much.

4. Spend more time with out of town family and friends. Even if it is for a short time over the weekend, time is better than no time at all!
-UPDATE: FAIL. We haven't traveled to see anyone yet. I have been traveling so much that's it's been difficult to go anywhere to see family/friends. Working on this...

Catch Up!

I have not been a good blogger, so I am playing catch up to make sure I document 2012 so far!

I cannot believe it is already the middle of March. Where has the time gone? Here's what we have been doing!

1. We've been trying to cook more at home and eat out less. It worked for a couple of weeks, but I have been traveling so much which doesn't make it easy! Here are some of the things we have made...

A mostly healthy dip to snack on

Oatmeal Bake

Tomato/Chicken Soup

2. My Dad's Birthday - Of course we celebrated at Slims with ice cream cake! The Big 52.

3. I went to the Dallas Market with Tripp's Mom & Sis at the end of Jan - had a blast as usual... love my time with the three of us. MA treats us to fabulous meals and I LOVE getting to spend time with Kristin. Wish we lived closer soooo bad. Here are some random pics of our time at Market!

Emily came to hang with us at the Dragonfly!

The amazing Halloween decor

MA hard at work!

4. I went to San Francisco to participate in research for work. It was such a cool experience. No pics from this, but Tripp did get some pretty flowers when I came home. Sweet hubby.

5. Lots of laziness on the weekends - Reggie's favorite sleeping spot ;)

6. Hudson's First Birthday Party - Jess did such an awesome job on the party. Loved getting to hold this little one!

7. Valentine's Day -  No pics to show :( We went to James at the Mill for Dinner and had a great dinner. Tripp got me a facial and a Sonic Gift Card! Perfection!! :)

8. Tripp's 26th Birthday - Some of my family was in town, so we got to celebrate all together! I got to meet my new baby cousin, Barrett, for the first time! ADORABLE.

We went out to eat at Hammontree's and Aunt Cheryl got Tripp fake mustaches for every day of the week! So, of course we asked him to try it out. I think this is what I have to look forward to in 60 years ;)

We got some ice cream at our favorite, Orange Leaf, afterwards. Aunt Cheryl and my Dad were being inappropriate - nothing new! Good news is that Tripp is used to it now ha!

9. I just got back from SXSW in Austin, TX and then meetings in Cincinnati, OH... 9 days of straight travel and I am simply exhausted. They were both great experiences and really glad I had the opportunity to attend the meetings... but so glad to be HOME!

I went to SXSW with 5 men from our SSX office... that was an experience in itself ha! Lots of learnings on digital, as well as men in general. We really did have a good time together. Here are some pics!

Doug, our Global Creative Director, and my "buddy" for the week - with his girly drink ;)

The registration line - what seemed like miles long.

A session.. SO MANY PEOPLE! We went to ~5 sessions/day and there were so many people in each one.

At the Bing Party.

About to see the band FUN with part of our group.

At the Pandora party at the W.

I ended up having to leave SXSW a day early to make it to the Cinci meetings. I took some pics in the air over Chicago.

So, that's a long recap of our lives the past three months. I have really enjoyed 2012 so far and it is FLYING by.
